Members of the Borno State House of Assembly and their National Assembly counterparts yesterday purchased nomination forms for the state governor, Kashim Shettima, to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket.
The delegation consisting of 22 state lawmakers, 5 members of the House of Representatives and commissioners, women representatives and other groups led by Senator Ali Ndume and Dahiru Monguno were at the APC national secretariat yesterday, to present the evidence of payment for the forms and collect them for the governor.
Monguno said they came to purchase the forms in their capacity as the representatives of the people of the state, adding that they appreciate the confidence Borno residents have in the governor for his giant strides despite the daunting challenges he is facing.
He said people are impressed with the performance of the governor in the last three and a half years, noting that despite the recent defection of some members of the party, the state lawmakers and members of the National Assembly are still behind the governor in his drive to provide development to the state.
Receiving the forms on behalf of the governor, Senator Ali Ndume told the party national leaders that Borno State is a comfortable state for the APC.
