The warning is contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed.

The command revealed plans by some politicians to disrupt the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections in the state.

“It has come to knowledge of Bauchi State Police Command that some desperate politicians are planning to disrupt the forthcoming Gubernatorial and House of Assembly election on 11 April 2015 in the State.  “The command warns that it will not fold its arms and watch disgruntled elements truncate the relative peace in the state, which it is working assiduously to maintain.   “To this end, members of the public are advised to be law abiding and conduct themselves peacefully, by shunning all forms of electoral offences before, during and after the election.    “Again, on no account should uniformed private/ government security agents and voluntary organizations such as Boys Scout, Vigilante groups, Boys Brigade, Peace Ambassadors and other quasi paramilitary organizations, be seen in uniform within 300 metres of a polling unit.
“The command further warns all security details attached to political office holders, to desist from accompanying their principals to the polling booths and collation centres during the election.  “Finally, the Command wishes to reassure the public of its commitment to the provision of round the clock security before, during and after the general election,” it said.
