yero-kaduna-stateAhead of Saturday’s governorship and State House of Assembly elections, the Kaduna State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it has re-strategised to emerge victorious at the polls.

The state party chairman, Chief Abubakar Gaiya Haruna flanked by the Director General of the Yero/Bajoga campaign organisation Hassan Hyet while briefing newsmen shortly after a closed-door meeting with party stakeholders, maintained that the party will not leave anything to chance before and during the governorship elections.

He recalled that the president-elect even in 2011 won the state under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) but the PDP in the state won the governorship and several House of Assembly seats, saying, the feat will be repeated in the forthcoming polls.

According to Chief Haruna, the PDP as a party has learnt from its shortcomings during the presidential polls and have already made necessary amends ahead of the governorship election to avoid a repeat.

He therefore called on the people of the state to come out en-mass and support the ‘performing governor’ Mukhtar Ramalan Yero for continuity and consolidation.

“With God on our side, we (PDP) are ready to win the governorship, we will do everything necessary to ensure that victory is ours.

“Let me use this medium to congratulate President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for first and foremost providing an enabling environment for a free, fair and credible polls and for conceding defeat.

“We also congratulate the President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari for his victory and urge him to be magnanimous in victory and build on the transformation agenda of President Jonathan.

“We want to call on supporters of the APC not to see winning as an avenue for intimidating others.”
