    Nasarawa SSG lauds INEC, women for large turnout

    Hajiya Zainab Abdulmuminin, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Nasarawa State, on Saturday commended Nasarawa women for their large turnout to vote for candidates of their choice.

    Abdulmuninin, who told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), after casting her vote in Angwan Dutse polling unit, Nasarawa, said that she was impressed with the orderly and peaceful conduct of the voters.

    “The women turnout is impressive, which is an indication that women don’t want to be disenfranchised, they are eager to exercise their civic right,” she said.

    The SSG also lauded the peaceful, orderly and friendly manner the voters had conducted themselves at various poling units.

    Abdulmumini said she was happy that the Card Readers worked perfectly, adding that INEC had improved on its preparedness towards ensuring credible elections.

    She commended INEC officials for arriving on time for the exercise, saying that it made the accreditation easy and reduced the waiting period.

    The SSG urged INEC to ensure transparency and openness in the exercise.  (NAN)
