39424dd193c06956004f95ae14d0f359_MKogi State governor, Capt. Idris Wada has been urged to urgently take steps that will restore the dignity of the state or face rejection at the polls.

National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS in a statement signed by its public relations officer, Com. Ezekiel Nwankwo explained that the was going through its worst moment infra structurally and otherwise.

He said the student’s body had made several appeals to the Wada lead administration to pay   attention to the education sector which he noted was decayed, welfare of students and staff in the state amongst others to no avail.

“Kogi is on auto reverse. No progress is been made in any sector of the state as we speak. The state of affairs have become so bad that civil servants can hardly take care of themselves and family. Salaries are paid regularly and the local government staff particularly have been on half salaries for almost a year.

“Why we acknowledge that the nation in general has witnessed shortfall in oil revenue as a result of the falling oil price in the global market, this cannot be  used as an excuse boy the state government as notting tangible can be attributed to this government”.

NANS therefore called on the government to live up to its responsibilities to retain the eroding confidence of the people
