The Presidency on Thursday urged the Akwa Ibom Governor, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel against misspending of N14.5billion released to the State by the Federal government from the Paris Club debt money.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly (Senate), Senator Ita Enang stated this when he hosted Rep Emmanuel Ukoete of the Ukanafun/ Orukanam of Akwa Ibom who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He said the money was released to the State government for the payment of accumulated salaries and pension being owed workers in the state.
” We are calling on the state to use the money for what it is meant for so that life can return to the State, “he said.
Enang said the people of Akwa Ibom are the greatest beneficiaries of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in term of appointments,and empowerment programmes.
Earlier in his remark, Rep Ukoete urged President Buhari to sustain the fight against corruption, saying the people of his constituency are in support of the fight.
” Come 2019, the APC will take the mantle of leadership in Akwa Ibom state. I am boasting that has already been established, “he said.
