Manchester United have identified Harry Kane as a potential trophy signing if a move for Antoine Griezmann fails to materialise, reports the Star.
While the Atletico Madrid forward remains the Red Devils’ No. 1 target and his £85 million buy-out clause could be met, Mourinho would like Kane if he fails to acquire the France international.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic yet to commit to a second season at Old Trafford and Wayne Rooney likely departing, United will need a striker to lessen the burden on Marcus Rashford.
An £80m offer would likely be tabled in a bid to tempt Spurs into selling, despite the 23-year-old recently penning a new five-year contract.
City to raid Spurs for Rose
Spurs will be forced to fend off more interest from rivals with Manchester City eyeing Danny Rose and the Mirror reports that Pep Guardiola sees the England international as the perfect left-back for his side.
Rose’s contract runs until 2021 and will fetch a hefty sum given his outstanding run of performances since Spurs challenged for the title last term and the fact that he is in the prime of his career.
The 26-year-old’s athleticism and attacking instinct would make him an ideal fit for City, to improve on Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov. Leaving would still represent a surprise though, given the potential of the side assembled by Mauricio Pochettino.
