According to source A study has shows that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho  was the world’s highest earning manager last year.

The claim, made by France Football, lists just the top five and puts Mourinho on just about double the earnings of Manchester City counterpart and long-time rival Pep Guardiola.

China boss Marcello Lippi is just behind Mourinho, while Laurent Blanc must have done well out of his Paris Saint-Germain sacking to be third on the list.

Former Chelsea and current Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti completes the top five.

Some of the timings would appar a little dubious, so a degree of caution is required when attempting to analyses the figures too closely, but interesting nonetheless.
