Army destroys Boko Haram camp, rescues hostages

The Nigerian Army troops of 27 Task Force Brigade in conjunction with the Nigerian Air Force and Civilian Joint Task Force on Tuesday destroyed another Boko Haram enclave at Buk in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The troops who were on a clearance operation rescued five aged women who were held hostage by the terrorists.

In a statement signed by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, it added that two soldiers sustained various degrees of injuries and were currently receiving treatment at a military facility.

Calling on the public to be vigilant, Chukwu said that though some members of the Boko Haram terrorists were killed, others fled the scene following the superior fire power of the army.

He added that the troops recovered one truck, one gun truck, three motorcycles, one tricycle, a bunker and an IED factory which were destroyed.
