nPDP members won’t respond to Buhari’s comments — Baraje

Says they will attend APC convention

Contrary to rumours making the round that aggrieved members of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) will not attend the party’s convention slated for tomorrow in Abuja, their leader, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, said they will attend and participate fully in the programme.
Alhaji Baraje disclosed this yesterday in a statement from his media office in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Baraje who had been leading other members of the nPDP in their consultations with the APC leadership issued the statement shortly after he returned from Saudi Arabia where he performed the lesser Hajj.
He emphasised that his group had no reason not to attend the convention.
“We are looking forward to the Saturday convention, we will be at the convention and after that, we shall see how things unfold,” he declared.
He said as a member of the convention committee of the party, he had attended one of the meetings preparatory to the convention.
He said the nPDP would also not say anything on claims and counter claims that President Muhammadu Buhari had said he would not meet with them.
He explained that when it was necessary for the presidency to invite them for discussion, talk or dialogue, they would confer with their members.
