    Nigerian stocks fall 0.82% to more than two-year low

    LAGOS, Aug 14 – Nigerian stocks fell 0.82% to more than two-year low after the index of the country’s top banks and oil shares dived.

    The main share index dropped to 27,083 points to a level last seen in May 2017

    Year to date, the index is down by 13.83%.

    Top Gainers: Continental Reinsurance Plc was the best-performing stock today. The stock gained 4.32% to close at N1.45. Custodian and Allied Insurance Plc also gained 3.33% to close at N6.20. Africa Prudential Plc gained 1.41% to close at N3.60. Union Bank of Nigeria Plc gained 0.74% to close at N6.80. Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc rounded off the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 5% to close at N0.2.
