By Benson Ezugwu
Calabar, Aug. 6, 2020 Mr Victor Effiom, Managing Director, Cross River Water Board Limited, said on Thursday that the management had approved the termination of the appointments of six members of staff as a result of dereliction of duty.
Effiom, who disclosed this during a chat with some newsmen in Calabar, however, noted that hard working members of staff were equally rewarded by the management.
The managing director further announced that all field officers on grade levels 10 and above who had performed poorly were delplayed.
He said that same category of workers who had served up to retirement age or whose years of service had reached the peak were compulsorily retired.
He added that others below grade level 10 also found wanting in performance were redeployed.
“The assessment was based on how much was submitted by staff from their daily bill collection from consumers,” Effiom said.
According to him, staff members with the highest refund and revenue collection from customers’ bills payment, are rewarded, same for the rest who performed well in their various jobs.
Naija247news reports that the Cross River Water Board Limited had been facing various challenges in a bid to restore water supply to Calabar and environs.
