The royal fathers, led by Alhaji Aminu Musa, gave the commendation on Tuesday in Minna, when they paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police in the state, Adamu Usman.

Musa said residents of Mariga LGA had suffered untold hardship in the hands of bandits and evil men in recent times.

He, however, said the effort of the police had made it possible for residents in the area to go about their normal activities now.

The traditional ruler said that the police had restored sanity to the area and urged the law enforcement agency and other security operatives to sustain the momentum.

“We will continue to support the police with required intelligence that could aid in apprehending bad elements in our midst,’’ he said.

Responding, the commissioner of police called on the residents to continue to support the police with information to rid the state of criminal elements.

Usman said that with the necessary support, the police would curb banditry and other forms of crime in the state.

“Stakeholders should support and partner the police by providing useful and timely information that will lead to crime bursting.’’

“Already, the command is reaching out to traditional and religious leaders in mobilising residents to be security conscious and report dubious characters in their midst.

“We will enhance community policing to enable residents to come forward with intelligence information that will aid us in apprehending criminal elements.’’ Usman said.
