    Osun MDAs to begin budget defence Nov. 17

    Osogbo, Nov.11, 2020 The Osun State House of Assembly has directed the state’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to appear before its Committee on Appropriation from Nov. 17 for the defence of their 2021 budgets.

    Mr Timothy Owoeye, Speaker of the Assembly made this known during plenary on Wednesday after the appropriation bill was read and passed for second reading.

    Naija247news reports that the budget of N109.8 billion was laid before the assembly on Tuesday by the state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.

    The lawmakers said the budget was achievable and would help improve the economy of the state, with a promise of accelerated passage.

    Owoeye commended the government for a good job on the budget, in spite of the corona virus pandemic.

    The speaker, thereafter, committed the bill to the committee of supply, a sub-committee under the committee on appropriation for further actions.
