Ayeni told newsmen on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti that the level of preparedness in the state-owned football club’s was very high.
“The management, coaches and players are ready for the challenges ahead.
“Also, the impressive results recorded in the various pre-season matches played by Ekiti United FC are an indication that the team was mentally and physically prepared for the 2021 Nigeria National League (NNL).
“The team will surely give other teams contesting in their group in the NNL this season a run for their money,” he assured.
On the recruitment of players, the coach said all the needed vacuum had been filled.
”The screening of players had since November 2020 closed, and all necessary steps have been completed.”
He assured that the team’s coaching crew was intensifying efforts at ensuring cohesion and understanding among both the old and new players in the team.
Speaking also, the club’s Secretary, Ayodeji Olowolafe, said the official signing and documentation of Ekiti United players ahead of registration for the season were done on Friday.
Olowolafe said the club management, in compliance with the NNL secretariat directive, had secured a befitting hostel accommodation as a safe camp for the team ahead of the season.
“The move is part of efforts to protect the players from contracting coronavirus.”
He further assured that all necessary logistics were being taken care of towards ensuring a smooth take-off of their 2020/2021 campaign in the NNL by Jan. 30.
“I urge all our fans and supporters to look forward to a team that will quench their football thirst within Ekiti and beyond,” Olowolafe said.
