Umuahia, Feb. 11, 2021 Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, on Thursday sworn in the President, Abia Customary Court of Appeal, Mrs Stella-Maris Ururuka-Onyenso, with a charge to uphold the rule of law and dispense justice without prejudice.
Speaking during the ceremony in Umuahia, Ikpeazu described the office of the customary court of appeal president as strategic and important in the dispense of justice.
Okezie urged the newly sworn in president “to protect the vulnerable and the voiceless”.
” I am aware of your rich pedigree and I have confidence that you will discharge this duty creditably.
“I pray that God will protect you, as you discharge your duties and ask that everyone should support you,” he added.
Responding, the Abia customary court of appeal president expressed gratitude over the opportunity to serve the people of the state.
Ururuka-Onyenso, who is also the first female president of the court, said that she considered her seamless rise through the ranks and new appointment as a source of hope to others.
She promised to discharge her duties diligently and promote quick dispense of justice without fear or favour.
