Alhaji Sani Dangote, the younger brother to Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, is dead. Until his death on Sunday November 14, 2021, the younger Dangote was the Group Vice Present at the Dangote Group and owner of Dansa Agro-allied Limited.
“INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJIUN. It is with a heavy heart but with total submission to Almighty Allah that we announce the passing on of our Group Vice President, Alhaji Sani Dangote today 14th November, 2021. May Allah SWT grant him mercy and admit him in aljannat al firdaus,” said a brief press statement that was issued by the Dangote Group.

Naija247news Media understands that Mr Dangote battled an undisclosed illness for months and was undergoing treatment at an unnamed hospital in the United States of America.

Until his death, Sani Dangote had an impressive resume. Much like his elder brother Aliko, he was a major investor in several key sectors of the Nigerian economy. He also belonged to many chambers of commerce, was a Fellow of the Nigeria’s chartered institute of shippers, and the President of the Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers Association (FERSAN).

Sani Dangote was the younger brother of Aliko Dangote and the Group Vice President at Dangote Group

Sani also sat the boards on Dansa Food Processing Company Ltd, Dangite Farms Ltd, Alsan Insurance Brokers and Dan-Hydro Company Ltd. In the same vein, he was the Deputy Chairman of the African Gum Arabic Producers Association and two-time President of Lagos Polo Club.

His death is a major blow to the Dangote family, particularly his elder brother Aliko Dangote, who depended on him a lot. Apparently, he preferred to operate beneath the hype, shying away from publicity. And this explains why very little was known about him by the public until now. However, those close to him have described him as very dependable and astute businessman.
